Wire Cap Connector SHC1022

This Hubbell Incorporated cord connector provides a liquid-tight seal for a single cable with a diameter between .25 in and .38 in. It mounts to a 1/2 in MNPT box opening and features a straight aluminum body with a white gland color code.

Indoor and outdoor electrical runs

The connector suits installers who need a straight, insulated-entry fitting without external strain relief. It is not for jobs that require a built-in strain-relief gland, an angled body style, or the ability to terminate multiple cables in one fitting.

Cord diameter range .25 to .38 in

That range decides whether the connector will seal properly on the cable you are using. The aluminum body carries CSA LR27378 and UL E54218 listings and measures 1 1/8 in from the box face to the end of the connector.

Questions about this item

How tightly does the 1022 connector grip a cord at the .25 in lower limit during sustained vibration?

The gland color code White corresponds to the .25-.38 in cord diameter range, providing a liquid-tight seal at the lower limit when the compression nut is properly tightened.

Does the aluminum body run hot or add noticeable resistance when carrying full load current all day?

The aluminum body acts only as a mechanical fitting; it does not conduct current, so it adds no electrical resistance and generates no heat from the circuit.

What thread must the enclosure already have for the 1/2 in MNPT box connection to screw in directly?

The enclosure needs a matching 1/2 in FNPT threaded opening; the connector includes no adapter for other thread types.
