Hubbell SHC1032 Liquid-Tight Cord Connector

The Hubbell SHC1032 is a straight aluminium wire connector built for liquid-tight applications. It accepts a single cord with a diameter between .25 in and .38 in and threads into a 3/4 in MNPT box opening. The gland is colour-coded white and the body is silver.

Installation and common issues

Screw the connector into the 3/4 in MNPT opening and tighten the gland nut to seal the cord; no external strain-relief hardware is supplied. The short 1 1/8 in body length leaves little room for manoeuvre in tight enclosures. Over-tightening the aluminium threads can strip the box entry, and an undersized cord will not seal against moisture.

Critical specification for selection

The cord diameter range of .25 in to .38 in is the single figure that decides fit; a cord outside this range will not seal or clamp correctly. The connector carries CSA LR27378 and UL E54218 listings for code compliance. It is not insulated and has no external strain relief, so buyers needing those features must choose a different model.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the SHC1032 connector is installed correctly after setup?

Verify the cord diameter falls within the .25 in to .38 in range and the 3/4 in MNPT box connection threads engage fully. The 1 1/8 in length from box to connector end should match your enclosure depth.

What comes with the SHC1032 and what must I source separately?

The package contains the straight aluminium liquid-tight cord connector with white gland colour code. You must supply a cord sized .25 in to .38 in and a 3/4 in MNPT threaded opening; no external strain relief is included.

Which SHC1032 version suits my cable diameter and box thread?

The single SHC1032 model covers cords from .25 in to .38 in and fits a 3/4 in MNPT box connection. Choose it when your cable and enclosure match those exact dimensions.
