Hyde 07004 Stiff Scraper Purpose

The Hyde 07004 is a stiff-bladed hand scraper built for removing paint, adhesive and plaster residue. Its 3/8-inch stainless-steel blade resists corrosion while the tapered hardwood handle gives a secure grip for controlled pressure.

Installation and Common Issues

No assembly is required; the full-tang blade is fixed to the handle so there are no loose parts to tighten. The only typical problem is blade dulling after heavy use, which cannot be corrected because the blade is not replaceable or retractable.

What to Check Before Ordering

Verify that a 3/8-inch straight blade suits the narrow seams or detail work you plan to tackle. Confirm you are comfortable with an 8-inch overall length and a non-replaceable stiff blade for the tasks ahead.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the stiff stainless-steel blade is cutting cleanly after I start using it?

Make a test scrape on scrap material; the straight 3/8 in blade should remove material evenly without flexing or leaving gouges.

Does the hardwood handle come attached or do I need to buy a separate grip?

The tapered hardwood handle is permanently fitted to the full tang, so no extra handle or grip purchase is required.

Is the 3/8 in width the only option or are other blade widths available for this model?

This specific model 07004 is offered only with a 3/8 in straight blade; other widths would be different Hyde scraper models.
