Banjo taper with 2 qt capacity

The Hyde Tools 09077 banjo taper holds two quarts of compound and accepts tape rolls up to 500 feet. Its adjustable aluminium blade spans three inches for consistent feathering. A polypropylene handle measuring five inches keeps the grip comfortable during long finishing runs.

Behaviour under sustained use

The lightweight aluminium blade resists fatigue when spreading compound across multiple joints. Adjustable blade tension maintains a uniform edge without frequent re-tightening. The two-quart reservoir reduces refill interruptions on larger walls.

Check your setup before ordering

Verify that your tape rolls do not exceed the 500-foot maximum length supported by this banjo. Confirm the three-inch blade width matches the joint sizes you typically finish. Ensure the 18-inch overall length fits your tool storage and workspace.

Questions about this item

How much noise or heat does the 18 in banjo taper produce during a full day of taping?

As a manual hand tool it has no motor, so it generates no noise or heat during extended use.

What tape roll must I already have for the 41 ft Hyde 09077 to feed properly?

It accepts any standard drywall tape roll up to 500 ft in length.

Will the 3 in aluminum blade on this banjo taper work with the older 2 in taping knives I still use?

The adjustable 3 in blade covers wider joints, while your existing 2 in knives remain useful for narrower seams and detail work.
