This Hynix module is an 8 GB DDR4-3200 ECC registered DIMM built for server and workstation platforms that require error-correcting registered memory. It is not compatible with standard consumer desktop or laptop motherboards that use unbuffered non-ECC modules.

Capacity and registered buffer limits

The 8 GB capacity suits entry-level virtualisation hosts, small database nodes or compute clusters where registered memory is mandatory. The registered buffer adds one clock cycle of latency and the single rank density caps maximum per-channel population on many server boards.

Build integration requirements

The module needs a DDR4 RDIMM slot with chipset-level ECC support and a BIOS that enables registered memory training. It frees the memory controller from single-bit error correction overhead but cannot be mixed with unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs in the same channel.
