Compact 87-key TKL gaming keyboard

The HyperX Alloy Origins Core is a wired mechanical keyboard with an 87-key tenkeyless layout that frees desk space for mouse movement. Its aerospace-grade aluminium alloy frame provides rigid durability while keeping the footprint small. Linear HyperX Ice Shaft switches deliver crisp, direct keystroke feedback tuned for fingertip control. Per-key RGB lighting and NGENUITY software enable dynamic effects, game modes and macro programming.

Linear HyperX Ice Shaft switch feel

The defining spec is the proprietary Ice Shaft linear switch, which uses a hard-tapered stem to produce a crisp, consistent keystroke without tactile bump or audible click. Exposed LEDs beneath each keycap ensure bright, even RGB illumination across all lighting zones. Three onboard profiles stored in the keyboard’s built-in chip let you switch lighting, macros and game modes instantly without software running in the background.

FPS players needing maximum mouse room

This board suits competitive gamers who want a compact, sturdy deck with linear switches and full per-key RGB customisation. Buyers who require a dedicated numpad, dedicated media keys or wireless connectivity should look elsewhere, as the 87-key layout omits the number cluster and the connection is wired only.

Questions about this item

How does the HyperX Ice Shaft feel when I'm actually gaming?

The hard-tapered linear Ice Shaft gives crisp, direct feedback on every keystroke, with exposed LEDs that make RGB effects shine through clearly.

What does the wired USB connection limit me to?

A single USB cable handles both power and data, so there is no battery to charge and no wireless latency to manage.

Will the 87-key aluminium frame fit on a small desk?

The tenkeyless layout removes the numeric pad, leaving more mouse room, while the solid aerospace-grade aluminium case keeps the board stable during fast swipes.
