IBM LTO-3 Tape Drive 40K2573

This IBM 40K2573Product LTO-3 tape drive provides native 400 GB and compressed 800 GB capacity for backup and archive workloads. It reads LTO-1 cartridges and reads or writes LTO-2 and LTO-3 media using linear serpentine recording. The unit is supplied new and integrates with the IBM 3361 Tape Library.

Suits teams archiving to LTO-3 libraries

Organisations that store data on LTO-3 media and need a replacement or additional drive for an IBM 3361 library will find this unit compatible. Buyers who require support for newer LTO generations or higher native capacities should evaluate other drive models.

Native 400 GB capacity per cartridge

The decisive specification is the 400 GB native storage capacity on LTO-3 tape, which doubles to 800 GB with compression. This figure determines how many cartridges are needed for a given dataset and whether the drive meets the retention window.
