Green rectangular DDR3 RDIMM memory module with gold edge connector and black chips, very low profile

IBM

IBM 46C0599 16GB DDR3 PC3-10600 VLP RDIMM 240-pin accessory

SKU CH-ZSWK-NY1MQ

16GB DDR3-1333 VLP RDIMM fits IBM HS22 7870, HS22V 7871, HS23 7875 blade servers

  • 16 GB capacity supports demanding workloads
  • DDR3-1333 bus speed delivers responsive data throughput
  • 35 V low-voltage operation reduces power draw
  • 240-pin RDIMM form factor fits compatible IBM blade servers
  • Validated for HS22 7870, HS22V 7871 and HS23 7875 systems

16GB DDR3-1333 VLP RDIMM

This 16GB DDR3 registered DIMM runs at PC3-10600 speed and 1.35V. The very-low-profile form factor fits dense blade chassis where vertical clearance is restricted. A single 240-pin module provides the full capacity. It is built for IBM System x HS22, HS22V and HS23 servers.

Upgrade from 4GB or 8GB DDR3 modules

Replacing smaller DDR3 RDIMMs with this 16GB stick multiplies per-slot capacity without adding modules. The jump is worthwhile when the HS22, HS22V or HS23 memory controller supports 16GB ranks and the workload demands more simultaneous virtual machines or larger in-memory datasets.

16GB per slot headroom

One module delivers 16GB of registered ECC memory at DDR3-1333, suitable for virtualisation hosts and database nodes running in the listed blades. Capacity stops at 16GB per DIMM; configurations needing more memory per server must populate additional slots or use higher-density modules not covered by this part.

Questions about this item

Will the 240-pin RDIMM fit the VLP slot on my HS22 7870 blade?

Yes. The module is a very-low-profile RDIMM built for the HS22 7870, HS22V 7871 and HS23 7875 chassis, so the 240-pin connector aligns with the blade's memory slots.

What is the correct seating technique for this 1.35 V DDR3 RDIMM?

Align the notch on the 240-pin edge connector with the key in the slot, press straight down until both retention clips click, and verify the module sits flush — angled insertion bends pins.

When should I plan to replace the 16 GB RDIMM in an HS23 7875?

Replace it if memory diagnostics report correctable errors that increase over time, or when a firmware update requires a higher capacity than the single 16 GB module provides.
