Lords of the Black Sun strategy game

Lords of the Black Sun is a turn-based 4X strategy game set in deep space. Players command one race to explore stars, colonise worlds, manage an empire and conquer rivals. The downloadable code activates on Steam for Windows PCs. It suits players who enjoy complex, dense empire management and tactical fleet battles.

Steam activation and regional restrictions

The product delivers a Steam code that unlocks the full game in supported regions. Activation is blocked in the countries listed in the specifications, so buyers in those locations cannot redeem the code. No physical media or additional software bundles are included with this download-only release.

Windows PC requirements before purchase

Your computer must run Windows XP SP3, Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1 with a Dual Core 2.0 GHz processor and 2 GB RAM. Questions about this item

Will the Steam DRM for model 37049 ever need re-activation after a Windows reinstall?

Steam handles DRM automatically; logging into the same account on the reinstalled PC restores the licence without a new code.

Which minimum spec hits the wall first during a long campaign turn?

The 2 GB RAM minimum fills quickly with large galaxies, causing swap slowdowns before the Dual Core 2.0 GHz CPU or 256 MB graphics become bottlenecks.

Does the download version run hotter or louder than a disc install after hours of play?

No disc drive spins, so the PC only produces the heat and fan noise from the CPU and GPU loading the 1150 MB game data.
