A flexible-shank nutdriver with magnetic tips that hold 1/4 and 5/16 inch fasteners in tight spaces
The Ideal 9999V nut driver handles both 1/4 in and 5/16 in SAE fasteners with a single tool. Its flexible round shank reaches around obstructions where a straight driver cannot fit. A magnetised tip holds the nut or bolt during placement, reducing dropped hardware. The green finish provides quick visual identification in a mixed tool set.
Hand-driven use produces no motor noise, vibration or electrical draw. The flexible shank absorbs some torque reaction, lowering wrist strain during repeated tightening. No batteries, chargers or compressed-air supply are required, so the tool is ready whenever the fastener is accessible. Operation stays consistent regardless of ambient temperature.
At 6 1/2 in shank length the driver stores in shallow trays or pouches without consuming deep drawer space. The dual-tip capability replaces two fixed nut drivers, freeing organiser slots for other tools. No special sockets, adapters or power sources are needed, keeping the surrounding kit simple. The plain shank works with standard SAE hardware across automotive and general maintenance tasks.

Slide the magnetic tip onto the fastener, then rotate the 6 1/2 in flexible shank to reach the clamp; the step often missed is keeping the shank straight while starting the turn to prevent binding.
The magnetized tip can lose holding strength after heavy use, and the flexible shank may develop permanent bends; replace the tool when the tip no longer grips 1/4 in or 5/16 in fasteners securely.
The 6 1/2 in flexible shank transmits less torque than a rigid driver, so the practical limit is reached when the shank twists instead of turning stubborn 1/4 in or 5/16 in hose clamps.
