iDiskk U006-128GB dual-connector flash drive

The iDiskk U006-128GB provides 128GB of external storage with both USB Type-C and Type-A connectors. It is MFi certified for direct use with iPhone models up to the 14 series and iPad models with Lightning ports. The silver metal body weighs 19g and measures 2.44 in by 0.75 in by 0.35 in. It suits users who need quick offline backups of photos and videos while travelling.

USB 3.0 interface limits transfer rates

The drive uses the USB 3.0 specification with quoted read speeds up to 85MB/s and write speeds up to 70MB/s. Actual throughput will not exceed the USB 3.0 bus ceiling and varies with the host controller, cable quality and file mix. Large video files move faster than many small documents. The Lightning connector works only on devices that still include that port.

Check your device ports before ordering

Verify that your iPhone or iPad has a Lightning connector; the U006-128GB does not fit USB-C iPhone 15 models or newer iPad Pro models. For computer transfers ensure you have a free USB Type-A or Type-C port. The companion app handles one-click backup and direct media playback of the listed video and audio formats. No driver installation is required on macOS or Windows.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 128GB capacity or a different size?

The U006-128GB model provides 128GB of storage, enough for thousands of photos and hours of video, with read speeds up to 85MB/s and write speeds up to 70MB/s over USB 3.0.

What does the 85MB/s read speed mean when I plug this into my laptop?

An 85MB/s read rate lets you offload a 1GB movie in roughly 20 seconds, so large photo libraries and video files move quickly between iPhone, iPad and computer.

How do the Type-C and Type-A connectors work with USB 3.0?

The drive has both USB Type-C and Type-A plugs operating at USB 3.0, so you can connect directly to modern iPads, MacBooks and PCs without an adapter.
