iFootage Spider Crab Phone Holder Yellow 402000047

This compact smartphone holder suits content creators who need a lightweight grip for video playback, recording, live streaming and vlogging. It fits in a hand or pocket and supports both landscape and portrait set-ups. The base plate includes cold shoe, 1/4", 38mm and 50mm mounts for quick switching. It is not for users who require a heavy-duty tripod mount or integrated lighting.

Thermals noise and power

The passive mechanical design produces no heat, fan noise or electrical draw during normal use. Operation stays silent because there are no moving parts beyond the adjustable joints. No batteries or external power are needed, so the holder adds nothing to a rig's power budget. It is not for scenarios that demand motorised tracking or active cooling.

Build integration

The 360-degree rotating head and multi-standard base plate let the holder attach to cages, gimbals, tripods or magic arms via cold shoe, 1/4", 38mm or 50mm threads. This flexibility frees up other mounting points on a rig for microphones, monitors or lights. It is not for setups that rely on proprietary quick-release plates not listed above.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the Spider Crab holder to a tripod and what step is often missed?

Screw the holder onto a 1/4", 38 mm or 50 mm mount, or slide the cold shoe onto a camera rig. The step people miss is locking the cold shoe's safety pin after sliding it in.

Which parts of the holder will need replacement after heavy use?

The spring-loaded grip arms and the 360° rotation joint are the wear points; the metal mounting threads and cold shoe plate typically outlast them.

What limits the holder during long recording sessions?

The 360° rotating joint can develop play after extended use, causing the phone to drift from the set angle.
