iKan NiSi IR ND4 2-Stop (0.6) 150mm Neutral Density Glass Filter camera accessory

Purpose and User

The iKan NiSi IR ND4 is a 150mm neutral density glass filter that reduces exposure by two stops. It is built for landscape photographers who need precise light management for long exposures or wide apertures in bright conditions. The filter fits NiSi 150mm holders and any standard holder accepting 2mm thick glass.

Practical Limits of the Filter

The 2-stop (0.6) density provides a fixed reduction, so scenes requiring stronger or variable attenuation need additional filters. Infrared suppression is engineered into the glass, yet extreme IR contamination from certain sensors or lenses may still require a dedicated IR cut filter. The 150mm square format demands a compatible holder system and vignetting can occur on ultra-wide lenses at certain focal lengths.

Capacity and Headroom

Precision annealed optical glass maintains sharpness for ultra-high megapixel cameras without degrading resolution. Multi-layer nano coating minimises ghosting and flare while repelling water, dust and oil for easier cleaning. The robust glass construction resists scratches during field use, preserving image quality over time.

150mm Square Format

The filter measures 150 x 150mm and fits any standard holder designed for 2mm thick glass, including NiSi's own 150mm system. This size covers most professional wide-angle lenses when mounted in a compatible holder. Vignetting may appear on certain ultra-wide focal lengths depending on the holder and adapter ring stack. The square shape allows vertical adjustment for graduated effects when paired with appropriate holder slots.
