Purpose and Audience

IKEA ISTAD resealable bags are designed for everyday kitchen storage and home organisation. They suit anyone who wants a reusable way to keep leftovers, dry goods or small non-food items tidy and visible.

Thermals Noise and Power

The bags contain no electrical or moving parts, so they produce no noise and draw no power. They withstand freezing temperatures and can hold contents warmed up to 122 °F without damage.

Double Seal Closure

A double-seal mechanism locks in freshness and prevents liquids from leaking. The bags can be hand-washed and resealed repeatedly, and the transparent material lets you see contents at a glance.

Questions about this item

How do I seal the double-seal closure on the ISTAD bag, and what step do people often miss?

Press firmly along both seal tracks from one end to the other until you hear a click; the step people miss is running a finger back across the full length to confirm both tracks are fully engaged.

What cleaning does the ISTAD bag need for repeated reuse?

Wash by hand with warm soapy water, rinse well, and air-dry completely before the next use; the bag is not dishwasher-safe.

At what temperature does the bag material reach its limit during sustained hot-fill use?

The bag is rated for contents up to 122 °F; exceeding that temperature can weaken the seal and the plastic over time.
