Questions about this item

How do I install the IKEA Mandoline black 504.715.64 and what step is often missed?

Place the mandoline on a stable surface, then turn the dial on the back to select one of the three slice thicknesses before use; the step often missed is setting the dial to 0 to engage the hand guard before slicing.

What maintenance or replacement will the IKEA Mandoline black 504.715.64 need later?

The stainless steel blade cannot be sharpened easily, so it will eventually need replacing; the plastic body and dial are dishwasher safe, but hand washing prolongs the life of the adjustment mechanism.
