Fine Grain Film Developer

Ilford Ilfotec DD-X is a liquid concentrate formulated for fine grain development and full film speed. It produces negatives with a full tonal range, deep shadows, smooth mid-tones, and detailed highlights. The developer is designed to complement Ilford Delta Professional films, including Delta 3200 Professional. It is suitable for both manual and machine processing workflows.

Dilution and Processing Checks

The concentrate requires dilution at a 1+4 ratio with water before one-shot use. For rotary processors using continuous agitation without a pre-rinse, reduce spiral tank development times by up to 15 percent. A pre-rinse is not recommended as it can cause uneven processing. Push processing times for various meter settings are provided in the development table supplied with the product.

Sustained Processing Behaviour

Under continuous agitation in rotary processors, the developer maintains consistent performance when development times are adjusted downward by the specified margin. The formulation avoids the unevenness associated with pre-rinse steps during extended machine runs.
