Ilford Multigrade 3.5in Filter Set 12

This set contains twelve numbered filters for darkroom enlarging. Photographers who print black-and-white negatives use them to control contrast on variable-contrast paper. Each filter measures 8.9x8.9cm and fits standard enlargers.

Contrast range 00 to 5 in half steps

The single specification that decides suitability is the contrast range. Filters are numbered 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in half-step increments. Lower numbers give softer contrast; higher numbers give harder contrast. This range covers the full printing scale.

Twelve filters with consistent exposure to 3.5

Twelve individual filters provide the complete half-step sequence. Exposure times stay constant from 00 through 3.5, then double for grades 4 and 5. Filters can be trimmed for a custom fit in any enlarger drawer. Printers needing grades beyond 5 or a different filter size need another solution.
