Variable-contrast fibre-based paper

Ilford Multigrade FB Classic is a black-and-white photographic paper coated on a 255g/m² fibre base with a white base tint. It is intended for darkroom printers who want neutral image tone, rich blacks and strong response to toners. The glossy surface enhances tonal rendition and overall print appearance. This product replaces the previous Multigrade IV FB Fiber line.

20x24 inch sheet format

Each pack contains 50 sheets measuring 20 by 24 inches, suited for large-format contact printing or enlargements. The fibre base provides the weight and handling characteristics expected from traditional darkroom papers. No rolls or smaller sheet sizes are included in this pack. The paper is designed for variable-contrast printing using standard filtration.

Faster exposure and reduced wash time

The emulsion offers a short induction time of around 20 seconds for image appearance during development. A closer speed relationship between grades gives more uniform grade separation and an extended low-contrast range at soft filtrations. Wash times are reduced by roughly 50 percent compared with earlier Multigrade FB papers, saving water in the darkroom workflow.
