What it is and who it is for

The iLive Boriwat R9 is a corded electric massager that combines percussion tapping with 3D shiatsu kneading in a single pillow. It targets adults seeking relief for lower-back, waist, leg or foot discomfort at home or in the office. The unit weighs 2 kilograms and includes a carry handle for easy repositioning. A removable PU-leather cover with Velcro fasteners protects the mechanism and simplifies cleaning.

Capacity and headroom

The massage surface measures 13 by 13 inches, larger than many standard pillows, giving broad coverage across the back or thighs. Two independent heat levels add adjustable warmth to improve circulation and relax tight muscles. Three intensity settings and three massage modes let users tailor pressure from gentle to deep, while the percussion function can be switched on or off separately. Overheat protection automatically limits temperature for safe extended sessions.

What it replaces and when the jump is worth it

It replaces single-function shiatsu-only cushions and smaller travel pillows that lack percussion or heat control. The upgrade is worthwhile when you want both tapping and kneading motions together, a wider treatment area, and the option to fine-tune heat and intensity without buying separate devices. Buyers who need battery operation, water resistance or a significantly lighter unit will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

Will this 13-inch wide massage pillow fit alongside my existing office chair without hanging over the edges?

The unit measures 14.33 inches wide and 12.83 inches high, so compare those dimensions with your chair's backrest to ensure proper fit.

How can I verify the percussion and heat functions are operating correctly after I plug it in?

Use the remote to cycle through the three intensity levels and two heat settings; you should feel distinct tapping from the percussion nodes and increasing warmth from the heating elements.

Does the package include a car adapter or only the mains power cord?

The massager is corded electric with a standard mains plug; no car adapter is included, so you would need a separate inverter for vehicle use.
