Elite Cat6e Riser (CMR) is a 1000 ft bulk Ethernet cable built with 24 AWG solid bare copper conductors in four unshielded twisted pairs. It is intended for installers and network managers who need a riser-rated cable for in-wall, between-floor or general horizontal runs in homes, offices or commercial sites.

Practical limits of the standard and interface

The cable is rated to 600 MHz and supports 1 Gb Ethernet up to 328 ft (100 m). It can carry 2.5GBase-T and 5GBase-T under IEEE 802.3bz at shorter distances, and it handles PoE for devices such as IP cameras or access points. Performance margin is 3–5 dB above the TIA-568.2-D baseline.
