Infrared Thermometer Non-Contact Digital Laser -581112 Red with Meat Probe

What this infrared thermometer does

This non-contact infrared thermometer measures surface temperatures from -58 °F to 1112 °F with a 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio and adjustable emissivity. It delivers readings in 0.5 seconds and includes a 304 stainless steel meat probe for internal food temperatures up to 572 °F. The unit runs on AAA and LR44 batteries and features a colour LCD with backlight.

Check before you order

Verify that you only need surface-temperature readings, because the infrared sensor cannot measure internal temperatures of people, animals or objects. Confirm the 12:1 spot ratio suits your typical measuring distance and that the -58 °F to 1112 °F range covers the targets you plan to check. The meat probe requires an LR44 cell, while the gun uses AAA batteries.

Who this suits and who it does not

Suits cooks, pitmasters and technicians who want fast surface checks on grills, ovens, engines or HVAC equipment plus a probe for meat doneness. Not for anyone needing a medical forehead thermometer or a device that reads core body temperature. Buyers who require continuous data logging or wireless connectivity should look at other instruments.
