Intel 697680-002 PCI 10/100 RJ45 Ethernet Switch Module

SKU CH-58A9-Z7GB9

Adds a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port to a desktop via an internal PCI slot

  • PCI form factor installs inside standard expansion slots
  • Dual-speed 10/100 Mbps Ethernet handles legacy and fast networks
  • RJ-45 connector plugs straight into existing copper cabling
  • Internal adapter design keeps the port inside the chassis
  • Intel networking silicon delivers reliable wired connectivity

Intel PCI 10/100 Network Adapter

This internal adapter adds a single RJ-45 port to a desktop or server with an available PCI slot. It supports 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps Ethernet for basic wired connectivity. The card is supplied new with manufacturer part number 697680-002.

Suitable for legacy systems needing wired LAN

This module fits older motherboards that provide a PCI expansion slot and require a simple 10/100 link. It does not serve builds that need Gigabit speeds, multiple ports or modern PCI Express interfaces. Buyers who want higher bandwidth or newer slot types should look elsewhere.

PCI interface with 100 Mbps maximum rate

The adapter connects through a standard PCI bus and tops out at 100 Mbps data transfer. That ceiling decides whether the part matches the network infrastructure in place. Systems requiring faster throughput cannot use this card.

Questions about this item

What does the 100 Mbps maximum transfer rate mean for everyday network use?

It limits this adapter to Fast Ethernet speeds, suitable for basic file sharing and internet access but slower than Gigabit connections.

How does the PCI interface affect the adapter's throughput?

The PCI slot provides sufficient bandwidth for the 10/100 Mbps link, so the bus does not restrict the rated network speed.

What are the physical dimensions for fitting this internal adapter?

The module measures 1 by 1 by 5.1 inches and weighs 2 units, fitting a standard low-profile PCI slot.
