Dual-band mini-PCIe Wi-Fi adapter

This Intel 7260HMW module adds 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless connectivity to a laptop or small-form-factor system through a mini PCI-Express slot. It is built for owners of compatible Dell chassis who need a factory-matched replacement or upgrade.

Suits Dell mini-PCIe slots only

The card fits Dell-branded mini PCI-Express sockets carrying part numbers NMTXR or 0NMTXR. Builders using standard M.2 keyed slots, desktop PCIe brackets, or non-Dell whitelists should look elsewhere because the physical keying and firmware locks prevent installation.

Mini PCI-Express interface decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the mini PCI-Express edge connector. If the target device does not expose that exact slot with Dell BIOS support, the adapter will not seat or be recognised.

Questions about this item

Does the 7260HMW run warm or draw much power during continuous use?

The adapter draws power from the mini PCI-Express slot and is designed for low-power operation inside laptops, so it does not add noticeable heat under normal load.

What slot and antenna setup does the 7260HMW require?

It fits a mini PCI-Express slot and expects two antenna leads, which most compatible laptops already provide.

Will the 7260HMW work in an older laptop that only has a mini PCI-Express WLAN slot?

Yes, the card is built for the mini PCI-Express interface and supports 802.11a/b/g/n, so it can replace an older Wi-Fi module in that slot.
