Intel NUC 7 Enthusiast barebone

This Intel NUC 7 Enthusiast kit arrives as a compact barebone mini PC with a 7th Gen Core i7-7567U processor, 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB solid-state drive already installed. It is suited to professionals who need a small-footprint desktop for office productivity, light content creation or digital-signage playback without assembling separate components.

Sustained thermal behaviour

The dual-core, four-thread CPU runs at a 3.50 GHz base frequency and can reach a 4.00 GHz max turbo frequency, while the integrated graphics drive HDMI 2.0a and USB-C DP1.2 outputs. Under prolonged workloads the small chassis relies on its internal cooling solution to manage heat, so extended heavy compute tasks will throttle sooner than they would on a larger tower system.

Interface bandwidth limits

System memory operates in dual-channel mode with a maximum bandwidth of 34.1 GB/s, which caps the data rate available to the integrated graphics and CPU cores. The single Intel I219-V Ethernet port provides standard wired connectivity, and the seven USB ports share the platform’s total USB throughput, so simultaneous high-speed peripheral use will contend for that shared bandwidth.

Questions about this item

How loud does the i7-7567U get and how much heat does it push out when running all day?

The 3.50 GHz base clock and 4.00 GHz turbo keep thermals moderate; the compact chassis uses a single fan that stays quiet under typical loads.

Which memory modules and storage drives must I supply to complete this barebone kit?

The unit already includes 16 GB of DDR4 and a 512 GB solid-state drive, so no extra RAM or storage is required.

Will my older HDMI 1.4 monitor and USB 2.0 peripherals work with the HDMI 2.0a and USB-C ports?

Yes, HDMI 2.0a is backward compatible with HDMI 1.4, and the USB-C port supports legacy USB devices through standard adapters.
