Quad-port Gigabit server adapter with four RJ45 ports on a PCI-Express 2.0 interface
The Intel I340-T4 is a PCI Express 2.0 network card that delivers four RJ45 ports running at 10/100/1000 Mbps. It is built for servers and workstations that need multiple wired links for virtualisation, iSCSI storage or segmented traffic.
Moving from a one or two-port adapter to this quad-port design consolidates cabling and frees expansion slots when a host serves several VLANs, storage networks or backup links simultaneously. The step up is worthwhile when the system already saturates fewer ports or when CPU offload for TCP-IP and iSCSI becomes necessary.
Each port negotiates 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps over copper, giving full line-rate throughput on all four channels within the 0 to 55 °C operating range. Bandwidth headroom ends at the PCI Express 2.0 bus limit, so aggregate traffic beyond the bus capacity will queue at the controller.

It installs in any PCI-Express 2.0 slot; the quad-port design uses four lanes, so an x4 or wider slot is required for full bandwidth.
The bulk pack ships with a standard-height bracket only; a low-profile bracket is not included and must be sourced separately.
The four RJ-45 connectors are soldered to the board; a damaged port means replacing the entire adapter.
