25 Gbps SFP28 network adapter with PCI Express interface supporting 10 and 1 Gbps speeds
This Intel network adapter connects servers or workstations to 25 Gbps Ethernet fabric through SFP28 ports. It supports three link speeds: 25 Gbps, 10 Gbps and 1 Gbps. The card uses a PCI Express interface for host connectivity.
Suitable for builders who need one 25 Gbps connection using direct-attach copper, optics or active optical cables. Not suited for installations that require dual ports, multi-gigabit speeds beyond 25 Gbps, or form factors other than SFP28.
The adapter provides exactly one SFP28 cage, limiting the host to a single 25 Gbps network link. Buyers needing multiple ports or a different cage type must choose another model.

The same SFP28 cages accept DAC, optics or AOC modules rated for 25 Gbps, 10 Gbps or 1 Gbps, so you only swap the module, not the card.
The card negotiates at 25 Gbps, 10 Gbps or 1 Gbps, so the PCIe lane width and generation in your slot determine the ceiling before the adapter itself saturates.
Intel specifies a low-profile, passively cooled design for the E830-XXVDA2, so it relies on chassis airflow rather than an onboard fan.
