Intel Ethernet Server Adapter I350-T4 quad-port Gigabit network card

Quad-port Gigabit server adapter

The Intel Ethernet Server Adapter I350-T4 is a plug-in card that adds four 10/100/1000BASE-T copper ports to a server or workstation. It targets administrators who need multiple independent network links for virtualisation, iSCSI storage or traffic segmentation.

PCI Express 2.1 x4 interface limit

The card uses a PCI Express 2.1 x4 slot and the Intel 82580 controller runs at 5 GT/s per lane. This bus width caps aggregate throughput at the Gen 2.0 rate, so the four gigabit ports share the same upstream bandwidth ceiling.

Four ports with hardware offload

Hardware acceleration handles TCP/IP and iSCSI processing, reducing host CPU load when all four links are active. The design suits environments that run several virtual machines or storage sessions, but it cannot exceed the gigabit speed on any single port.
