Intel NUC 14 Pro+ Ultra 9 185H

This barebone mini PC targets professionals and developers who need a compact system for AI-assisted workloads and commercial deployments. The Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor integrates an NPU for efficient, long-running inference tasks alongside an Arc GPU for graphics acceleration. Buyers must supply their own DDR5 memory and storage to complete the build.

Verify DDR5 SO-DIMM compatibility

Before ordering, confirm that your chosen memory modules are DDR5 SO-DIMMs rated at 5600 MT/s to match the platform specification. The board supports up to 96 GB across its slots, so plan capacity accordingly. Ensure any M.2 storage you select fits the available keying and length, as the barebone includes no drives or RAM.

Thermal design handles sustained AI

The integrated Arc GPU and NPU share the cooling solution with the CPU, so extended AI Boost or graphics workloads will raise chassis temperatures and fan speeds. Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and dual Lightning 4 ports with DP 2.1 add minimal thermal load during typical office use. Power draw scales with processor utilisation, peaking under combined compute and graphics demand.

Questions about this item

Does the barebone include RAM and storage, or do I buy them separately?

This unit is a barebone so memory and storage are not included; you add up to 96 GB of DDR5 5600 SO-DIMM and your own M.2 drive.

Should I choose the Ultra 9 185H or the Ultra 7 and Ultra 5 versions for AI workloads?

All three SKUs feature Intel AI Boost NPU, but the Ultra 9 185H has the highest core count and Arc graphics for the heaviest AI tasks.

What does the 2.1 in the dual lightning 4 ports mean for external displays?

The 2.1 label refers to DisplayPort 2.1 support over the USB4 interfaces, allowing high-resolution video output on compatible monitors.
