The Intel Xeon Gold 6448Y is a 32-core server processor built for two-socket platforms. It targets workloads that scale across many threads, such as virtualisation hosts, database nodes and high-performance computing clusters. Buyers who need single-thread speed above all else or who are building single-socket workstations will not match the design intent.

32 cores and 60 MB L3 cache

The chip runs at a 2.1 GHz base frequency and can reach 4.1 GHz max turbo when thermal headroom allows. Eight DDR5-4800 channels support up to 4 TB of memory, giving ample bandwidth for in-memory datasets. Workloads that exceed 64 threads or require more than 80 PCIe 5.0 lanes will hit the architectural ceiling of this part.

LGA 4677 socket and 225 W TDP

The processor fits the LGA 4677 land-grid array and is manufactured on a 10 nm Sapphire Rapids core. No cooling solution is included, so a server-grade heatsink or liquid loop rated for 225 W must be sourced separately. The 2S scalability limit means the package cannot be used in four-socket or larger topologies.
