  • 11 Mbit/s transmission speed for basic wireless connectivity
  • 300 ft indoor range covers typical office or home layouts
  • 1500 ft outdoor range supports extended campus or yard coverage
  • Ultra-thin .2 in profile fits space-constrained notebook designs

Notebook Wi-Fi Adapter for Legacy Mini PCI Slots

This Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 module adds 802.11b wireless networking to notebooks that accept a Mini PCI Type III card. It is intended for repairing or upgrading older laptops where the original wireless hardware has failed or is missing. The adapter fits internally and connects directly to the system board through the Mini PCI interface.

11 Mbit/s Throughput on the 2.4 GHz Band

The adapter operates on the ISM band with a maximum frequency of 2.50 GHz and delivers a wireless transmission speed of 11 Mbit/s. Indoor antenna range reaches 300 ft while outdoor range extends to 1500 ft. The UNII band is not supported, so 5 GHz networks cannot be used. Performance is limited to the 802.11b standard.

Slim Type 3B Form Factor for Thin Chassis

The card measures 1.8" by 2.4" with a depth of .2" and weighs approximately .42 oz. This thin profile is designed for notebook systems where overall thickness must be kept to an absolute minimum. Buyers needing 802.11g, 802.11n or modern WPA3 security should look elsewhere as this hardware does not support those protocols.
