This Intel Storageworks switch module provides 32 ports for Fibre Channel storage-area networks. It suits data-centre administrators who need to connect multiple servers and arrays in a single fabric. The unit is supplied new and ready for rack installation. Buyers who require more than 32 ports or a different protocol will need another solution.

Thermals and power in normal use

The module draws up to 65 W under typical load and is cooled by internal fans designed for continuous operation. Acoustic output remains within standard data-centre limits during normal traffic. No external power supply is required beyond the chassis backplane.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Intel Storageworks 4 32 San Switcha7393A switch module, and what step is commonly missed?

Slide the module into an available switch bay until the latch clicks, then secure the retention screw; the step often missed is tightening that screw, which ensures proper electrical contact and prevents the module from unseating under vibration.

What maintenance or replacement will the Intel Storageworks 4 32 San Switcha7393A switch module need later?

The module has no user-serviceable parts; maintenance is limited to keeping the chassis air filters clean so airflow remains within thermal limits, and replacement is only required if the unit fails or port requirements change.
