Dual-port 10 Gbps SFP+ adapter on a PCI-Express 2.0 x8 interface using the Intel 82599ES controller
The Intel X520-DA2 is a dual-port network interface card built for servers and workstations that need 10 gigabit Ethernet connectivity. It uses the Intel 82599ES controller and connects through a PCI Express 2.0 x8 slot, compatible with x8 and x16 slots. The card targets IT professionals adding high-speed links to rackmount or tower systems.
Two SFP+ cages accept 10G multi-mode modules, single-mode modules or direct-attach copper cables, letting you choose the reach and media type per link. Each port runs at 10Gbps line rate under IEEE 802.3 10BASE-SR and 10BASE-LR standards. The x8 5GT/s bus provides enough bandwidth for both ports simultaneously without saturation.
A low-profile bracket allows installation in 1U and 2U rackmount servers where full-height cards do not fit. The SFP+ cages face the rear bulkhead for clean cable routing in hot-aisle or cold-aisle layouts. No onboard transceivers are included, so you supply the optics or DACs that match your switch ports and distance requirements.

The card uses a PCIe 2.0 x8 electrical interface and is compatible with x8 or x16 slots, so it will deliver the full 10 Gbps rate in a PCIe 2.0 x8 slot.
Check the adapter LEDs or the OS network status; each port should show a 10 Gbps link when a supported SFP+ module and cable are connected.
The adapter ships without transceivers or cables; you must purchase compatible SFP+ modules or direct-attach cables separately.
