100 Mbps Port Limit and 1.6 Gbps Fabric

Each port caps at 100 Mbps, so gigabit devices will negotiate down to Fast Ethernet speeds. The internal switching fabric totals 1.6 Gbps using a store-and-forward method. A 448 KByte buffer and a 1k MAC address table with auto-learning manage traffic flow. The switch operates at Layer 2 only and does not support PoE, stacking or management modules.

Plug-and-Play Setup With Green Power Saving

Installation is limited to connecting power and Ethernet cables; the switch auto-senses speed and duplex on every port. Green Ethernet technology powers down unused ports to reduce electricity draw. The desktop format is fanless and silent. Buyers who need gigabit throughput, VLAN support, PoE power delivery or rack-mount brackets cannot meet those needs with this model.
