Replacement Printhead for PX6i

The Intermec 1-040084-900 is a new thermal printhead designed specifically for the PX6i printer. It operates at a resolution of 203 dpi to produce clear labels and receipts. This supply item restores print quality when the original head wears out.

Upgrading from a worn or damaged head

Install this replacement when output becomes faint, streaky or incomplete due to element failure. The jump is worth it if downtime costs exceed the part cost and the printer mechanism otherwise remains sound. Buyers needing a different resolution or a printhead for another printer model should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 1-040084-900 printhead align with the existing three mounting points on the PX6i?

Yes, the replacement printhead matches the original PX6i mounting pattern so it seats on the same three points without modification.

After sliding the printhead in, do I need to latch the pressure arm before running the first calibration?

Yes — close and latch the pressure arm first, then run the calibration routine; skipping the latch causes registration errors.
