Direct thermal desktop label printer printing at 8 in/s with 203 dpi resolution, 128 MB flash memory and USB interface for labels up to 2.36 in wide
The Intermec PC23d is a compact desktop barcode and label printer that uses direct thermal technology so it needs no ribbon or ink. It suits small businesses, warehouses or retail counters that print shipping labels, asset tags or receipts in black and white at up to 203 dpi.
Connectivity is provided by a single USB port which keeps cabling simple but restricts the printer to a direct PC link rather than network sharing. The maximum label width is 2.36 inches so wider formats such as 4 inch pallet labels cannot be produced on this model.
The unit ships with 128MB of flash memory for storing fonts, graphics and label formats locally which reduces host dependency during batch jobs. Its desktop chassis is designed for bench-top use and the direct thermal mechanism has fewer moving parts than thermal transfer models, lowering day-to-day maintenance.

The 203 dpi resolution suits standard shipping labels and general barcode work; choose a higher resolution only if you need very small text or dense 2D codes.
At 8 inches per second the PC23d can produce a typical 4-inch label in about half a second, so several hundred labels per hour are realistic in a desktop setting.
USB is the only data interface on this model, so the printer must be attached directly to a host PC or a print server that provides a USB port.
