Industrial direct thermal barcode printer producing up to 10,000 labels daily at 12 ips with 203 dpi resolution and USB, serial, Ethernet interfaces
The Intermec PM43c is an industrial-grade direct-thermal barcode printer built for 5,001 to 10,000 labels per day. It prints at 12 ips with a 203 dpi resolution and a maximum print width of 4.09 inches on media up to 4.50 inches wide. Connectivity includes Serial, USB and Ethernet interfaces for integration into warehouse or manufacturing systems.
Direct-thermal printing eliminates ribbon handling and reduces consumable changes during high-volume runs. The tear-off cutter provides a simple media finish without a powered cutting mechanism. With 128 MB of flash memory, the unit stores fonts, graphics and label formats locally to keep print jobs moving without host delays.
This model replaces desktop-class printers that cannot sustain 5,001 to 10,000 labels per day or handle 8-inch roll diameters. The jump is worth it when label volumes exceed the duty cycle of lighter printers or when Serial, USB and Ethernet must coexist on one device. It is not suited for applications that require thermal-transfer ribbon printing or colour output.

Open the cover, place the roll on the 3‑inch core holder, thread labels through the guides to the tear‑off cutter, then close and latch the printhead — the latch click is the step most users skip.
The direct‑thermal printhead wears with use; plan to replace it after high‑volume printing, while the tear‑off cutter and rollers typically last longer.
The manufacturer rates the PM43c for 5,001 to 10,000 labels per day; sustained output above that range will exceed the specified duty cycle.
