What this pack contains

The IOGEAR USB C to USB 3.0 OTG Adapter 2-Pack provides two male USB-C to female USB-A dongles. Each adapter enables OTG connectivity so a USB-C smartphone, tablet or laptop can accept standard USB flash drives, keyboards, mice, hubs or gamepads without drivers.

Who benefits and who does not

Users who need quick, driver-free access to USB-A peripherals from a USB-C mobile device will find these adapters convenient. Buyers who require video output, fast-charging passthrough or a single rugged cable for permanent desk use should consider other solutions.

Installation experience

Plug the USB-C end into the host device and attach the USB-A peripheral; the OTG function activates immediately on supported Android, Pixel, Galaxy and recent iPhone models. Transfer rates peak at 480 MB/s but actual speed depends on the connected drive, and the adapter is not intended for charging applications.

Questions about this item

Does my USB-C phone or tablet need to support OTG for this adapter to work?

Yes, the adapter only functions when the host device has OTG capability built in.

Will my existing USB 2.0 flash drives and mice still connect through the USB 3.0 female port?

The USB 3.0 port is backward compatible, so USB 2.0 peripherals work normally.

How can I verify the adapter is delivering the advertised 480 MB/s transfer rate?

Copy a large file to a USB 3.0 drive and check that sustained read/write speeds approach 480 MB/s.
