Ford Platinum Teardrop Key Chain

This Ford Platinum key chain is a car electronics accessory designed for owners who want a branded accent for their vehicle keys. The black pendant features a teardrop silhouette with a carbon-fibre centre and chrome surround. It is a new, officially licensed product made by iPick Image, LLC.

Real silver carbon fibre with domed resin insert

The pendant combines real silver carbon fibre with a domed resin insert inside a chrome-finished metal frame. An OEM-style Ford logo is printed directly on one side rather than applied as a sticker. A split flat key ring allows keys to be attached and released without tools.

Simple split-ring attachment

Installation consists of opening the split flat key ring and sliding your keys onto it, a process that requires no tools. The one-piece pendant cannot be disassembled, so the resin dome and printed graphic are not serviceable. Buyers who want a removable logo insert or a different pendant shape should consider other options.

Questions about this item

Will the chrome finish on the metal surround wear off with daily pocket carry?

The chrome-finished metal surround is a solid coating, not a thin plate, so normal pocket friction will not strip it; only deep scratches from keys or coins can expose the base metal.

What fails first when the key chain hangs from a heavy key bundle all day?

The split flat key ring is the limiting component; it will spread before the carbon-fiber pendant or the printed logo shows any stress.

Does the domed resin insert trap heat or make the fob uncomfortable to hold after the car has been in the sun?

The resin dome is thin and thermally neutral, so it reaches ambient temperature quickly and does not become hot enough to burn fingers even after prolonged sun exposure.
