Product Identity

The IPS Corporation 60365 is a brass cleanout plug designed for residential or commercial drainage systems. It suits plumbers and property owners who need a reliable screw-in cover for a four-inch cleanout drain.

Installation Method

The screw-in design threads directly into the cleanout fitting without requiring additional tools or adhesives. This approach simplifies removal for routine maintenance or emergency access to the drainage line.

Critical Specification

The four-inch overall diameter determines compatibility with the existing cleanout opening. Buyers needing a different pipe size or a non-threaded connection will find this plug unsuitable.

Questions about this item

Will the brass threads on the 60365 plug need lubrication or replacement after repeated removal?

Brass threads resist corrosion but can gall if tightened dry; applying plumber's grease during each installation prevents seizing and extends thread life indefinitely.

What stops the plug from sealing if the cleanout drain is slightly out-of-round?

The screw-in design relies on thread engagement rather than a gasket, so an oval drain prevents full contact and allows leakage past the threads.

Does the brass body stay cool enough to touch after hot water runs through the drain all day?

Brass conducts heat rapidly; the plug will reach water temperature and remain too hot for bare-hand contact until the drain cools.
