Educational Reading Pen

The IRISPen Reader 8 is a handheld scanning pen designed for students and learners who need reading assistance. It functions entirely offline without requiring a Wi-Fi connection. The device serves as an assistive technology tool for individuals with dyslexia or reading difficulties. A USB-C headset is included to support focused listening during study sessions.

Scanning Capacity and Limits

The pen scans printed text line by line and reads it aloud instantly to aid comprehension. It handles textbook passages, worksheets and exam questions within its physical scanning window. The device runs out of utility when faced with dense columns, very small fonts or curved surfaces that prevent proper contact. It cannot process handwritten notes or digital screens directly.

Build and Daily Use

A lightweight pen-style body allows extended use without fatigue during classroom or home study. The integrated USB-C port charges the unit and connects the supplied headset for private audio playback. No wireless radios mean no pairing steps or network configuration. The offline-only design ensures consistent operation in exam halls or areas with restricted connectivity.
