2U Rackmount Chassis for microATX

The iStarUSA D-213-MATX-SILVER is a 2U rackmount server chassis built from metal and aluminium. It accepts microATX motherboards measuring 9.6 x 9.6 inches. The enclosure provides one external 5.25 inch drive bay and two internal 3.5 inch drive bays. Front-mounted USB ports and LED indicators for power and drive activity simplify daily operation.

Suited for Low-Profile Expansion Needs

This unit supports four low-profile add-on cards and a standard ATX PS2 power supply, making it appropriate for specialised server or networking appliances. Builds requiring full-height expansion cards, additional 5.25 inch bays, or support for larger ATX motherboards should consider a different chassis. The fixed 2U height also rules out taller CPU coolers or components exceeding the slot profile.

Sustained Operation in Standard Racks

Measuring 15.0 x 19.0 x 3.5 inches, the chassis fits standard 19 inch rack cabinets and supports continuous duty when paired with adequate rack airflow. The aluminium construction assists heat dissipation for the supported low-profile cards and power supply during extended workloads. Thermal performance depends on the installed components and the rack cooling strategy rather than on integrated active cooling.

Questions about this item

What motherboard size must I already own for the D-213-MATX-SILVER to accept it?

The chassis fits a 9.6 x 9.6 inch micro-ATX board; full-size ATX or mini-ITX will not mount correctly.

Will my existing ATX PS2 power supply work in this 2U rackmount case?

Yes, the chassis supports a standard ATX PS2 unit, so a supply you already use in a tower build can be reused.

How can I confirm the chassis is operating normally after installation?

The front panel provides a power LED and an HDD activity LED; both should light when the system is on and the drive is accessed.
