3U rackmount chassis for microATX builds

The iStarUSA D-314-MATX is a 3U rackmount server chassis designed for ATX, microATX and mini-ITX motherboards up to 12 by 9.6 inches. It suits builders assembling compact rackmount servers or industrial workstations that need front-accessible drive bays and full-height expansion slots in a short-depth enclosure.

Tool-free drive access and standard ATX power

Three external 5.25-inch bays and four internal 3.5-inch bays are reached from the front, simplifying drive swaps without sliding the unit out. The chassis accepts a standard ATX PS2 power supply, so no proprietary PSU is required. Optional front 80mm and rear 60mm fan mounts provide airflow, but the fans themselves are not included and must be sourced separately.

Four full-height slots and sixteen-inch depth

Four full-height expansion slots support cards up to 165mm long when drives are installed, giving room for RAID controllers, NICs or GPU accelerators. The 16.89-inch overall depth fits shallow racks, yet the 165mm card limit and fixed 3U height restrict very long GPUs or double-slot coolers. Buyers needing more than four slots or deeper card clearance should consider a 4U or deeper platform.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the D-314-MATX is operating correctly once installed?

The front panel shows a power LED and an HDD activity LED; both should light when the system is running and the drive is accessed.

What ships with the D-314-MATX and what must I provide?

The chassis includes the SGCC 1.2 mm steel frame, front bezel with two USB 2.0 ports, power and reset switches, and mounting hardware; you must supply an ATX PS2 power supply, motherboard, drives, and add-on cards.

Which D-314-MATX configuration suits a build needing four full-height cards and four 3.5" drives?

This single model supports four full-height expansion slots up to 165 mm deep and four internal 3.5" bays, matching those requirements directly.
