Kick-Down Door Holder Stop
This kick-down door holder stop holds a door open with a simple foot action. The 4 inch arm drops down to engage the floor and retracts when the door is pushed. It suits residential or light commercial doors where hands-free hold-open is needed.
Doors with two inches or less clearance
The unit requires a door-to-floor gap of two inches or less to function correctly. Doors with a larger gap cannot engage the rubber shoe securely. It is not suited for doors that need a wall-mounted or magnetic hold-open solution.
ANSI/BHMA 156.16 and L11381 certified
This holder meets ANSI/BHMA 156.16 and L11381 requirements for performance and durability. The certification confirms it has been tested to a recognised hardware standard. Installers can rely on this compliance for specification-driven projects.

Questions about this item
What door-to-floor clearance does the 4-inch kick-down arm require?
The holder is designed for clearances of 2 inches or less between the door bottom and the floor.
How is the cast iron base plate secured to the door?
The 2-1/4 by 1-7/16 inch plate is surface-mounted with screws; the common error is failing to pre-drill pilot holes in the iron casting.
When should the rubber shoe on the FS544SP28 be replaced?
Replace the non-marring shoe once the corrugated tread wears smooth and the door begins to slip on smooth flooring.
