First Stage Feeding Spoons

This set of six spoons is designed for babies aged six months and older who are starting self-feeding. Each spoon measures 12.7 by 2.5 by 1.5 centimetres and combines a bamboo handle with a soft silicone tip. The lightweight construction helps infants grip the utensil and practise independent eating.

Suits early weaning; not for advanced eaters

The soft tips are gentle on gums and developing teeth, making them appropriate for first-stage weaning. They are made from 100 percent food-grade silicone that is BPA free. Parents who need dishwasher-safe utensils should note the product data lists dishwasher safe as no, though the supplier notes mention boil-safe cleaning.

Six spoons cover daily meals

The pack provides six colour-coded spoons, giving enough pieces for rotation across meals and simple cleanup by hand rinsing or soapy water. The small 12.7 centimetre length suits a baby's hand but will become too short as the child grows. The silicone tip resists hot and cold temperatures without deforming.

Questions about this item

What type of high chair tray or bowl works with the 12.7 cm spoon length?

The 12.7 cm handle reaches most standard high chair trays and shallow bowls, letting a 6 month plus baby scoop food without the handle slipping into the dish.

Can these silicone tips handle the same boiling water sterilisation I use for older bamboo utensils?

Yes, the 100 percent food grade silicone tips are boil safe and BPA free, so they withstand the same hot water treatment as traditional bamboo pieces.

How do I confirm the spoons are clean enough for first stage feeding after washing?

The non porous silicone surface releases food residue with a soapy water rinse, and the smooth 1.5 cm thick tip shows no trapped particles when held to the light.
