Iwatani Silicone Spoon Set

The set contains five food-grade silicone spoons: one large spoon measuring 10.7 inches and four small spoons measuring 8 inches. Each spoon has a bamboo handle and comes in a distinct colour — red, green, yellow, purple or blue. The silicone heads are heat resistant and safe for non-stick cookware. They are not dishwasher safe.

Home cooks who want colour-coded utensils

The distinct colours help organise tasks such as stirring, mixing and serving without cross-contaminating flavours. Buyers who need utensils that can be cleaned in a dishwasher should look elsewhere, as the set is hand-wash only. Those requiring metal or nylon tools for high-heat searing will also need a different option.

Five spoons cover everyday cooking and serving

The large spoon handles big pots of soup or stew, while the four small spoons manage sauces, sides and plating. The set runs out when a recipe calls for more than five simultaneous utensils or when dishwasher cleaning is mandatory.
