Heat-Resistant Kitchen Mitts

The Iwatani XT-GREY mitts shield hands up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit while handling hot bakeware, grill grates or microwave dishes. A textured silicone exterior grips wet or greasy cookware securely. Soft polyester filling cushions the hand during long cooking sessions. Two mitts are included in the set.

Thermal Performance and Care

Rated for 500 degrees Fahrenheit, the silicone shell blocks intense heat from ovens, BBQs and stovetops without stiffening. The polyester liner remains breathable so hands stay comfortable during extended use. Machine washing cleans the mitts thoroughly after messy tasks. No dishwasher cleaning is recommended.

Practical Details for Daily Use

Each mitt measures 13 inches long by 6 inches wide and .1 inch thick, covering the forearm for extra splash protection. The silver-grey colour hides light stains between washes. Buyers who need longer gauntlets or integrated pot-holder loops will not find those features here. The pair packs flat for compact drawer storage.

Questions about this item

How do I put on the 13 in mitts and what step do people miss?

Slide your hand fully into the polyester filling so the cuff covers your wrist; the common mistake is leaving the cuff rolled back, which exposes skin to 500°F heat.

What maintenance will the silicone mitts need later?

Machine wash them after each use; the silicone grip and polyester filling tolerate repeated cycles without degrading.

What limit appears first during sustained use at high temperature?

The 500°F heat-resistance rating is the ceiling; prolonged contact above that temperature will compromise the silicone and filling.
