Extension for USB-C devices

This one-foot USB-C male-to-female cable extends a USB 3.1 Gen 2 connection up to 10 Gbps and carries 20 V at 5 A for power delivery. It also passes a 4K video signal so a display can be driven through the same link. The braided nylon jacket and aluminium-alloy shells are rated for more than 10000 bends.

Suits users protecting a built-in port

People who want to spare the native USB-C socket on a laptop, phone or tablet from repeated plug cycles will benefit. The short length keeps desk clutter low while still giving a little extra reach. Buyers who need Thunderbolt 3 connectivity should look elsewhere because this cable does not work with any Thunderbolt 3 dock, hub or cable.

10 Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 speed

The single specification that decides fit is the 10 Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 data rate combined with 100 W power delivery and 4K video support. If the host and peripheral both operate at that level the cable will transmit data, power and video without an active repeater.
