What it is

The J-12A-079 is a pair of 315 MHz garage door remotes built for openers that use a purple learn button. Each unit weighs 30 grams and runs on a lithium cell, so it slips onto a keychain or into a pocket without bulk.

Deciding specification

Compatibility is limited to motor units that show a purple learn button; any other button colour will not pair. The remote replaces LiftMaster models 355LM, 365LM, 370LM, 371LM, 372LM, 373LM, 374LM, 376LM, 377LM, 378LM, 398LM and Chamberlain models 940D, 950D, 953D, 956D plus Sears Craftsman 139.53753.

What the bundle changes

Two remotes let you keep one on a daily keychain and store the second in a vehicle or give it to another household member. The metal reinforced keychain frame on each unit resists breakage better than an all plastic body, and the rolling code encryption secures every transmission.
