  • Anti-clogging impeller design keeps flow steady with debris
  • Meets ISO 8846 and ISO 8849 marine safety standards

Marine bilge pump for small vessels

The JABSCO Low Pressure Cyclone Centrifugal Pump 12V 50840-0012 is a marine bilge pump built for boats that need reliable water removal. It meets ISO 8846 marine ignition-protection rules and ISO 8849 bilge-pump standards. The stainless-steel body resists corrosion in saltwater environments.

Sustained flow with anti-clog design

The centrifugal impeller delivers 29.7 gallons/min at pressures up to 8.7 psi without the pressure drop common in short-burst tests. An anti-clogging impeller keeps debris moving during long runs. The rotatable head locks in 90° segments so hose routing stays fixed under vibration.

Quiet operation and simple service

The long-life DC motor runs virtually silent during normal cycling. One-tool servicing with a 3/8" spanner reduces downtime at the dock. The mechanical seal is rated for extended life and the unit carries a standard warning for nickel exposure under California Proposition 65.

Questions about this item

How loud is the pump when it runs continuously on a 12 V supply?

The manufacturer describes it as virtually silent running thanks to the centrifugal design and long-life DC motor.

What hose or fitting must I already have to connect the rotatable head?

The head rotates in 90° segments, so you need compatible hose barbs or threaded fittings that match the pump outlet.

Will the stainless steel construction and ISO 8846 ignition protection work safely with my older 12 V marine electrical system?

Yes, the pump meets ISO 8846 MARINE and USCG ignition-protection standards and is built for 12 V DC marine installations.
