RP-SMA 2 dBi Antenna

This JacobsParts ANT-2DBI antenna kit contains five black dipole units built for 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi networks. Each antenna connects through an RP-SMA female interface and suits wireless routers, desktop cards, printers or AV receivers. The omnidirectional pattern removes the need for precise aiming during setup.

Passive omnidirectional gain

No power supply or active electronics are present, so the antennas add no noise or heat to the system. Signal improvement comes from the fixed 2 dBi dipole design operating across the stated frequency bands. Installation is a simple mechanical twist without driver or firmware changes.

Five-pack flexibility

The bundle lets you upgrade multiple devices or replace several stock antennas at once. Compliance with 802.11b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards ensures broad compatibility across current WiFi 2 hardware. No bundled software is required or included.

Questions about this item

How do I install the RP-SMA antenna on my router, and what is the common mistake?

Twist the RP-SMA Female connector onto the router's male port by hand until snug; the step people get wrong is using pliers, which can strip the threads or crack the housing.

What maintenance or replacement will the 2.4GHz/5GHz dipole antenna need over time?

No scheduled maintenance is required; if the hinge loosens or the radome cracks, replace the individual antenna — each unit in the 5-pack is a standalone dipole.

What is the first limit that appears when the 2dBi omni antenna runs under sustained load?

The fixed 2dBi gain caps range improvement; under heavy throughput the signal boost plateaus because the antenna cannot add more gain than its design allows.
